She cares more about her own health than her kids

This was a comment, among many others, left by someone on a picture I shared yesterday on my fitness page. A piece of my life, a piece of my day, a vulnerable glimpse into my heart, and someone felt the need to go on and on, tearing me down and bashing my mothering skills.
.
You see, when I began this business, when I decided to share my story and open up about my life, I knew there would be haters. I knew there would be people who didn’t agree with me. And I’m okay with that.
.
I’m not here to impress, I’m here to share and just be real. I’m here to spread love and belief. To help other women find strength and empowerment. To be a light to others who just need a friend, because that’s what I needed when I began this journey.
.
Even though I went to bed with a little frustration over a comment like that on a picture of my baby and I, I am waking up with a renewed mind and spirit and focusing on what truly matters.
.
Embarking on this day with this quote in mind:
.
“Build someone up. Put their insecurities to sleep. Remind them they’re worthy. Tell them they’re magical. Be light in a too often dim world.” 😘
.
Spread love, friends. Always. It’s so much sweeter than hate and feels so much better coming out of your mouth.

She threw away all of her masks and put on her soul.

I woke up to a pretty awesome quote shared in my accountability group this morning and I just fell in love with it instantly!
.
“She threw away all of her masks and put on her soul.”
.
How beautiful is that?! 🙌🏽
.
As I sit her in my kitchen this morning sipping coffee with my hubby, I immediately thought about how I’m un-showered and no makeup on, just in my workout clothes and not dolled up. No masks to hide anything. Completely raw.
.
I have been on a wellness journey from the inside out for the last 2.5 years. Getting rid of all the masks I’ve hidden behind to finally bask in the security of what sets my soul on fire. It feels GOOD too!
.
You can tell yourself whatever you want, put on layers of makeup, hide behind various facades of what you want people to view you as, but at the end of the day you will be left feeling empty.
.
So why not “beautify” your SOUL by working on yourself and the things that are substantial? Your confidence, your heart, your self image, the way you interact and relate to people, how you view your job and the experiences around you—be TRUE to who you are!
.
Let the beauty of your SOUL shine through and don’t try to cover up anything behind a mask that you feel might make you stronger, because in reality, it just makes you weaker and less confident.
.
The moment I realized that there was no mask good enough to hide behind, was the moment I started LIVING for ME. I finally started doing some soul searching and found the little bits of beautiful that were waiting to come out and be shared in a passionate way with others. 💗
.
My encouragement to you today is—set aside those masks. Set aside what you are hiding behind and embrace the fact that you are bold, beautiful, and so wonderfully made. There’s only ONE you and there are people who need to experience the greatness of YOUR soul. 💕

LIFE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR MINDSET.

I have learned a LOT about mindset over the last few years and I have realized that IT is what controls how I approach every little thing in life.
.
It’s not easy to have a positive outlook sometimes, and it’s not easy to always think the best of every situation. We are human and we struggle.
.
BUT, one thing that has helped is starting my day off with some calm time—time to pray, read personal development, a devotion, something of the sort to kind of calm my heart and get me in the right headspace for the day.
.
I woke up in a bit of a funk this morning, disappointed over some work things, so uncomfortable, and lethargic. It’s been the longest week of my life without my husband around much. I am just downright exhausted and not in a positive headspace upon waking.
.
As I opened my computer to get through some work before Hudson woke up, this was the graphic that popped up when I went to do some coach recognition posts; how fitting right?
.
Today is only as good as MY mindset. If that’s the case, I better shape it up and get more positive this morning. haha! It’s Friday Eve! I’m alive and well and so are you — isn’t that reason to celebrate?
.
Let’s check any negativity, doubts, fear at the door and walk into today with a GOOD MINDSET that today is a fresh start, a new day, and a beautiful day to be alive!
.
XOXO! You are loved. Go share that with someone today! 💗

Let’s go back to 2014

Let’s go back to 2014 when I was desperately searching for something else to do. I just found this in my notes on my phone last night.
.
We were planning to start a family, I was feeling burnt out and unfulfilled by my job as a teacher, and I had started a list of things I could do to make money as little side businesses…..😂😂
.
Clearly I didn’t get far before the opportunity of a lifetime fell into my lap. Just a few months after making this list I began the journey of a lifetime that fulfilled some of my greatest passions: creativity, teaching, writing, relationships, and health & fitness.
.
It’s pretty funny how life changes in an instant and how desperate I was to think of ANYTHING else I could do to possibly bring myself home from teaching to grow our family.
.
8 months in as a coach and I retired myself from teaching to a full time income from home as a health and wellness coach; fulfilling a greater mission that God laid on my heart to empower women.
.
So long #flashback, I’m moving nowhere but forward! 💁🏽

Looking back

As we were winding down tonight getting Hudson ready for bed, we were scrolling through old pictures and videos and giggling with him from when he was a baby.
.
Then I came across this picture on the left and it’s always going to be one I remember vividly. Talk about a transformation bump edition. 😜
.
We were packing to leave for a short overnight anniversary trip and that morning I realized I was late, so I decided to take a pregnancy test. Just minutes later we found out we were expecting our second child—a baby girl as we would later find out!
.
I was the thinnest I’d ever been and felt so confident and good in my new and improved mama figure after having our son. But round two of pregnancy was about to begin. ✌🏽
.
Tonight I shuffled upstairs and threw on my leggings and the same sports bra to take a comparison picture, now more than 30 weeks of pregnancy later. A few bouts of sickness endured, but an overall active pregnancy with well over 20lbs+ LESS gained with Sky than with Hudson.
.
I will never cease to be amazed at the way God has formed a woman’s body to endure so many changes. To stretch so far, to go back down, to provide life, to give nourishment, to navigate hormones, and so much fluctuation. It’s really a dang miracle. 😂
.
Heading into these last few weeks of pregnancy has me so grateful for my body, for my children, and for my community that has rallied around me and supported me through both pregnancies now. Not to mention my sweet hubby who has kept me going daily too! 👊🏽
