Date your Spouse

This mama put on a dress, did her hair and makeup, and got out with her hubs tonight. I’m actually a human this evening. πŸ˜‚
It was our first date out since having baby girl and honestly in a long time aside from just getting dinner here and there in my last weeks of pregnancy. Man it was so fun!
I had gotten Spencer tickets to see a comedy dueling pianos show for his bday and we almost skipped tonight because Huddy’s been sick and I was nervous to leave Sky so soon.
My mama was so gracious to come over and assured us everything would be fine for a few hours so we could still go. And it was!
Sometimes it’s so easy to forget how FUN it is to date your spouse when life gets busy. So tonight, we got back to what we truly love doing. Listening to music and spending unplugged time together like when we were first love birds. πŸ’—
Date your spouse. Always. Never let anything get more important than that because your honey needs their love tank filled and you can’t do that when you fill your time only taking care of the kiddos and working.
We of course forgot to take a picture together, so here’s my bathroom selfie for proof that we got out for a fun couple of hours to jam to some music, have a drink, enjoy adult conversation, and just be love birds, just us, just for a few hours. 😍

Prep Week

How do you plan to stay on track for the week? I have super BUSY weeks away from the house for long hours, so it helps to have healthy snacks and lunches prepared ahead of time.

This afternoon, I cut up a ton of raw veggies – to be paired with guacamole or hummus, made a homemade nut and berry trail mix, and tried out a new gluten free pasta salad for lunches.

Recipes for all below!

Fruit & Nut Trail Mix:
– dried mangos
– dried cranberries
– dried pineapple
– walnuts chopped
– raw almonds
– toasted coconut shavings

Grab a handful of each and mix together in a bowl. It made enough for a heaping 1/4 cup for 5 pre-prepped baggies.

Getting it in with NO excuses

Workout going down now and I don’t even care that it’s late.
We’ve had a few unexpected things we had to do this afternoon which kind of threw our day off, but I’ve been seeing all my ladies browsing their programs and knocking them out today and I’m totally inspired to not miss mine either. Plus, my workout is dancing to 80’s and 90’s musicβ€”it doesn’t get much better than that for a postpartum mama. πŸ™ŒπŸ½
I’m telling you….a support community changes EVERYTHING! I glance back from 2.5 years ago to now…who am I? ITCHING to workout even late afternoon? πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈI’ll take it! You know why? Because I’m sooooo much of a better wifey and mama because of it.
When I talk to new ladies getting into my groups, almost 99% of them say they are in need of one thing: ACCOUNTABILITY.
πŸ‘‰πŸ½πŸ‘‰πŸ½ Someone to cheer them on, and be there in the trenches with them. Someone to support them and help them on the days they want to give up.
That’s what being part of a team is all about. Support. Love. Friendship. Community. And a little kick in the booty every so often too. πŸ‘ŠπŸ½πŸ˜œ
Did you get your workout in today? Drop me a πŸ‘ŠπŸ½ if so!

Lot’s going on this week and I won’t lie….I’ve got a little anxiety about having both kids on my own more consistently now, on top of TWO businesses to manage and be the CEO of, but I know I can do it. πŸ‘ŠπŸ½
Thank goodness for helpful hands and collaboration from others to help make #mompreneur life doable, fun, and so rewarding. πŸ’—
I so often get asked about #momguilt and how I struggle through that, and honestly—I think about it this way…..
I can be at work in two different places: outside of the house, or at home with my kids. I love working. I love contributing to my family. It gives me purpose and an outlet outside of just mommy and wifey. I never wanted to stop working, but I wanted to be home with my kids more.
So when I get asked how I make it work while being mom at home and not feeling guilty, I remind myself that I am working hard FROM HOME, with my kiddos running around me instead of being gone for 9+ hours a day. They see me. They watch me work hard. They see our family collaborating over empowering missions. They see the fruits of hard work, hustle, and passion. And they see how that in turn makes both my husband and I better for each other and for them.
I chose my life and lifestyle we have. It may be crazy. It’s not for everyone, and that’s okay! But we love it & that’s what matters. πŸ’—
