Postpartum Body

#TransformationΒ memory.Β πŸ™ŒπŸ½
.
8.5 months postpartum with baby #1 to currently 8.5 months postpartum after baby #2.
.
Bodies change.
Lives change.
Situations change.
Priorities change.
Mindsets change.
.
So much can change in an instant, and physical transformation can be fleeting. But a well rounded transformation includes the INSIDE stuff too.
.
So much LIFE has happened between these two pictures, but the one constant has been the work I’ve done on the inside.
.
Personal development and my quiet time with Jesus every day has slowly made me a stronger, more capable, more believing woman.Β πŸ’—
.
Isn’t the female body crazy?! I still can’t believe I gained 60 some pounds with my son, lost 65, then gained 40 again with my daughter and I’m just NOW to my pre-pregnancy weight in this second postpartum journey. So insane! What a humbling experience.😳

Season of Change

It’s about that time again! Opening up my accountability groups for new ladies it one of the BEST parts of my job!
.
The ladies in my group this past month have been blowing me away with the work they’ve been doing on the inside and out. It’s so empowering!
.
As I’ve been going through my own personal journey postpartum, having a supportive community alongside me has been so important to my overall progress and transformation.
.
I’m switching things up a bit for October, with some grouping into accountability teams for added support, some new recipes, and fun challenges throughout our group.
.
I can’t wait to meet some new ladies, continue to support the ones who have been with me, and embrace some amazing changes as we enter into my favorite season.
.
This group is symbolic for many reasons, but the biggest being that these last few months have been full of changes. Some good and some not so good. A lot of amazing physical ones, major mental shifts, and a whole lot of family heartache.
.
But at the end of the day — community is what it comes down to for me. A tribe of people who love you, support you, are there for you, and who carry you when you need it most.
.
So I invite you to join me on this journey to embrace your own season of change. Maybe it’s time for you too. ❀️

80 Day Obsession

All I can say is WOW I have such a newfound and even MORE intense love and understanding for what my accountability ladies go through during my groups.
.
βž•The comparison.
βž•The scale and measurement watching.
βž•Seeing more progress in the first week or two and then a slow down, if not increase in the third.
βž•The mental battle and struggle.
.
This has been so good for me and I’m very grateful to be in this test group for the 80 Day Obsession. ❀️
.
I’ve stayed on track pretty well, with the exception of a few meals coming later than they should because of momlife and that’s just real life–I even had everything prepped, just literally couldn’t manage the chaos surrounding me for a minute enough to get my own self fed.πŸ™ˆ
.
The mental battle of WANTING wine and sweets after a long mommin’ day is rough some days, but I’m staying strong. This is a mindset test for sure and I’m loving the challenge and the results it’s producing all around.
.
Feeling stronger and I know with TIME and PATIENCE the weight will begin to go and the toning in my midsection will come. I just had a baby 3 months ago for goodness sake!
.
Everything about this program is showing me that the scale is so NOT the way to measure progress. It’s been all over the place since the start of this program, and at Day 21, I’m down 9 inches total and 4/5lbs depending on the day and any bloat or full nursing boobies.Β πŸ‘πŸ½
.
Feeling excited I’m finally in week 4. Once we get through this week, I can officially be almost past the longest I’ve really gone THIS honed into my nutrition.
.
This group came in the middle of a very hard life stage for me with a lot of personal and family stuff going on. I almost said no to the invitation because it “was going to be too hard and inconvenient”.
.
But MAN am I glad I didn’t say NO. This group…the program…the individuals in it….are changing my life and honestly saving it a little bit too.
.
I needed this and I’m glad I didn’t give into LIFE and instead decided to say WATCH ME. A busy, crazy mom of two under two with a lot of family stuff and life stage transitions going on CAN do this and I’m gunna show you how.Β πŸ‘ŠπŸ½
.
Funny how opportunities come into your life because you need them more than you even knew.Β πŸ™πŸ½

Changes

A lot changes over the course of a couple years. A month and a half after this first picture, we found out I was expecting our second child, Skylar.
.
Talk about being on an ongoing pregnancy and postpartum journey for close to three years. 😳Lots of body changes and transformations.
.
On the left…..
I weighed 132 pounds.
I was 11 months postpartum with our firstborn.
I had been done breastfeeding for 3 months.
I was the fittest I’ve ever been.
I had just completed an amazing dancing program which leaned my body out so much.
I had lost over the 50+ lbs I gained during pregnancy.
.
On the right…..
This is me today.
I weigh 144 pounds.
I am 10 weeks postpartum with our second child, Skylar.
I still exclusively breastfeed daily.
I began my postpartum fitness journey just 5 weeks ago.
My hips are wider.
I endured diastasis recti this pregnancy.
.
Both journeys have been so different, but equally as special.Β πŸ’—
.
Embarking on each journey postpartum has been a test of my belief in myself. An invitation to give myself grace and love my body a little bit more for what it can endure and go through. A testament to hard work and dedication. A test of self love.Β πŸ’—
.
Bringing sweet babies into the world is an incredible blessing and journey that I’m so blessed by. The second time around has been much different than the first, but I’m grateful for that.
.
It’s been teaching me so much about discipline. About loving my body. About speaking grace over myself. And about trusting the process.
.
Postpartum journey #2 is just in the beginning phase and I’m super pumped about where it’s taking me and my heart and mind. It all goes together; hand in hand.
.
Are you on a wellness journey too? I’m so glad we get to do this together.Β πŸ‘ŠπŸ½

XOXO, Ashley

Exercise has been the BEST thing for our marriage!

Do you and your partner make staying active a priority in your relationship?

After pressing play this morning before starting work, hubby and I decided to put together a little couples workout for you to enjoy with your special someone.

Fitness has become such a core vital behavior of our relationship. It’s something that has helped grow us into stronger individuals so that we are better for each other.

When we first started dating, fitness was not something we used to do together. It is something that has evolved. Over time, it has become a non-negotiable activity daily for us because we have made a decision to live our healthiest lives TOGETHER as a team.

When you have a partner, someone to hold you accountable on your wellness journey, it makes it so much more enjoyable and FUN!😍

Try out this couples workout for a fun sweat sesh with your partner. Don’t have one? Grab a friend and do it!πŸ™ŒπŸ½

30 seconds each:
β€’ high knee punches
β€’ mountain climbers
β€’ traveling side punches
β€’ over-over-taps

Now, compete the following:
30 squat ball passes.
15 push-up taps.
30 sit-up ball passes.
15 traveling burpees.
10 incline partner push-ups.
30 alternating side lunges.

Repeat entire workout 3x through.

We guarantee you’ll be sweating like crazy! We were after just ONE round!😳

Don’t have a medicine ball? Grab one of your kids toys, a jar from the pantry, anything to add a little resistance and weight!πŸ‘πŸ½

Enjoy and let us know what you think!
